College Park East Saskatoon; A brief history

East College Park Saskatoon is a thriving family-based community with 2 elementary schools and surrounds the beautiful Sid Buckwold Park. Predominantly a residential neighborhood located in the east-central part of Saskatoon composed mainly of single-family detached dwellings but a sizable number of high-density, multiple-unit dwellings. The area is home to approximately 4,688 residents. East College Park Saskatoon is considered a middle-income area, with an average household income of $88,692, an average home value of $313,326 and a home ownership rate of 78.8%.

The land where East College Park now exists was annexed in the period between 1970 and 1974. Home construction was at its peak from 1971 until 1980. Streets are named after Canadian universities and professors. The community is also widely known by the variant name College Park East.

Plenty of shopping opportunities exist within minutes of the area such as The Centre which is a major regional shopping centre located east of the junction of Circle Drive and 8th Street in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Current anchors include Best Buy, Sport Chek, Saskatoon Co-op Food Store and Gas Bar, Rainbow Cinemas, Centre Cinemas (Cineplex), Atmosphere, Shopper’s Drug Mart, Dollarama and Indigo Books.
